Your Local Pasadena Process Server
Pasadena has one of the densest concentrations of attorneys, accountants, and professional offices anywhere in the San Gabriel Valley — and a residential map that runs from Craftsman bungalows packed shoulder to shoulder in Bungalow Heaven to gated estates on the streets west of the Arroyo. Serving papers well here means knowing which is which before you drive out.
We are a short run up the 134 from our Glendale base, which keeps Pasadena rush work genuinely fast rather than nominally fast. We serve in this city constantly — residential addresses, professional offices along Colorado and Lake, and the courthouse on Walnut.
We are a registered, bonded California process serving company and a member of the National Association of Professional Process Servers. Every completed job comes back with a court-ready proof of service — date, time, exact location, and a description of the person served — prepared to California Judicial Council standards and emailed as a PDF. As an official California eFiling provider, we can also file the documents once service is complete.
Documents We Serve in Pasadena
If it has to be served, we serve it
Summons & Complaints
The document that starts your lawsuit. Personal, substituted, or service by publication support when the defendant cannot be found.
Subpoenas
Deposition subpoenas, records subpoenas, and trial subpoenas served on witnesses, custodians of records, and third parties.

Petitions, citations, and statutory notices in estate matters — common work in Pasadena and the surrounding San Gabriel Valley. Tell us your hearing date when you order.
Evictions & Unlawful Detainer
3-day, 30-day, and 60-day notices plus unlawful detainer summons. Landlords and property managers get fast turnarounds on tight statutory clocks.
Family Law & Divorce Papers
Divorce petitions, custody motions, and support orders — handled discreetly and professionally in situations that are rarely easy.
Restraining Orders
Domestic violence, civil harassment, and elder abuse restraining orders served promptly and carefully, with priority handling.
Writs, Levies & Garnishments
Judgment enforcement paperwork, bank levies, wage garnishments, and judgment debtor examinations.
Skip Tracing
Cannot find them? We run industry-leading TLOxp data to surface current addresses, phone numbers, and workplaces before we ever roll a truck.
Court Filing & eFiling
As an official California eFiling provider, we can file your documents after service — one vendor, one invoice, one point of contact.
What Makes Pasadena Different to Serve
Local knowledge is the difference between one attempt and four
Gated estates west of the Arroyo
San Rafael, Linda Vista, and the streets around the Arroyo Seco hold long driveways, gates, and intercoms. A gate does not defeat service, but it does change how the attempt is made and documented — and a server who treats a locked gate as a dead end will hand you a useless attempt log.
Professional offices and receptionists
Colorado Boulevard, Lake Avenue, and Old Pasadena are full of suites where a receptionist is trained to refuse anything that looks legal. Serving a professional at work takes knowing who is actually authorized to accept and when the target is genuinely on site.
Transient student and postdoc addresses
Pasadena's academic and research population turns over constantly, and a defendant's address on file is frequently a year out of date. This is where skip tracing before the first attempt saves both time and money.
Event traffic and street closures
Rose Bowl events, parade season, and Old Pasadena weekends can shut down access to whole sections of the city. Scheduling attempts around those closures is the difference between service and a wasted trip.

We Serve Them
A registered process server makes the attempt, varying days and times as needed. You get an update after each attempt — no silence.
You Get Your Proof
A signed, court-ready proof of service lands in your inbox as a PDF. Need it filed? Assisted eFiling is available once service is complete.
California Service of Process Rules, in Plain English
A quick orientation for anyone handling their first case. This is general information, not legal advice — talk to an attorney about your specific situation.
You cannot serve your own papers
Under California Code of Civil Procedure § 414.10, service must be performed by someone 18 or older who is not a party to the case. If you are the plaintiff, you are disqualified. A friend or relative technically qualifies, but a registered process server produces a proof of service that is far harder for the other side to attack.
Personal service is the gold standard
Handing the documents directly to the named person (CCP § 415.10) is the cleanest and fastest-effective method. Service is complete the moment the papers are delivered. It is what we attempt first on every job.
Substituted service is the fallback
When someone cannot be personally served after reasonable diligence — courts generally expect several genuine attempts at different times — CCP § 415.20 allows the papers to be left with a competent adult at their home or usual workplace, followed by a mailed copy. Service is then deemed complete on the 10th day after mailing, so build that delay into your calendar.
Registered process servers are regulated
California registered process servers must register with the county clerk and maintain a $2,000 bond under the Business and Professions Code. That registration is what allows a server to sign proofs of service in volume and gives your filing added credibility.
Deadlines are unforgiving
California expects a summons and complaint to be served within 60 days of filing, and unlawful detainer cases move on far tighter clocks. If your deadline is close, say so when you contact us and we will prioritize the job.

Pasadena Process Server FAQ
The questions we get asked most
About Process Serving in Pasadena, California
Pasadena is the anchor of the San Gabriel Valley's legal and professional community, and the volume of civil, family, probate, and landlord-tenant work filed here reflects that. It is also a city of sharp contrasts for anyone who has to physically locate a person: dense historic bungalow districts where houses sit twenty feet apart, mid-rise professional buildings along Colorado and Lake with staffed lobbies, and gated properties on the western slopes where a driveway can run a hundred yards from the street.
Our Glendale base puts Pasadena a short run up the 134, which keeps next-day rush work genuinely next-day. Estate and probate practices in particular use us for citations and statutory notices tied to hearing dates that cannot be moved, and we treat those calendars as hard deadlines rather than targets.
If your defendant is a business entity rather than an individual, many California companies designate a commercial registered agent for service of process — see our pages on serving CT Corporation and United States Corporation Agents (LegalZoom). Beyond serving, Pasadena clients use us for court filing and California eFiling, courthouse messenger runs, records retrieval, and TLOxp skip tracing — see our California eFiling service for attorneys and law firms. We also cover Glendale, Burbank, Van Nuys, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and all of Los Angeles County.
We are registered and bonded in California, our proofs of service comply with California Code of Civil Procedure requirements, and we are members of the National Association of Professional Process Servers. Whether you are an attorney with a filing deadline tomorrow, an executor working through a probate calendar, or an individual serving divorce papers for the first time, you will get the same answer when you call: a real person, a straight quote, and papers served properly.
