Your Beverly Hills Process Server
Beverly Hills is one of the harder cities in Los Angeles County to serve papers in, and the reason is straightforward: most defendants here are insulated by design. Gates, intercoms, private security patrols, staffed lobbies in the Golden Triangle, and layers of business managers and assistants all sit between a process server and the named party. None of that makes service impossible. It makes preparation the whole job.
We are a registered, bonded California process serving company and a member of the National Association of Professional Process Servers. We approach these addresses the way the law actually allows — lawful approach to the entry point, careful documentation, and where access is refused, completion of service at the outermost point of access the server can reach — so the proof of service survives the challenge that high-value litigation usually brings.
Every completed job comes back with a court-ready proof of service — date, time, exact location, and a description of the person served — prepared to California Judicial Council standards and emailed as a PDF. As an official California eFiling provider, we can also file the documents once service is complete.

What Makes Beverly Hills Different to Serve
Access is the entire challenge
Gates, guards, and intercoms
Most estate addresses cannot be walked up to. What matters is knowing how far a server may lawfully go, what a refusal at the gate means legally, and how to document the attempt so the proof of service is not thrown out later. A server who simply logs "gated, no access" four times has given you nothing.
Layers of representation
Business managers, agents, publicists, and assistants routinely offer to "take it." Accepting mail is not the same as being authorized to accept service of process, and service on the wrong person is worse than no service at all because it wastes the clock.
Discretion is a requirement
Our servers do not announce the nature of the documents to staff, neighbors, or anyone other than the person being served, and do not discuss assignments outside your file. In high-profile matters that is a professional obligation, not a courtesy.
Property held in trusts and LLCs
Title records in Beverly Hills frequently name a trust or holding company rather than a person, which makes public records a poor guide to where someone actually lives. Skip tracing before dispatch is the difference between a serve and four wasted attempts.

California Service of Process Rules, in Plain English
A quick orientation for anyone handling their first case. This is general information, not legal advice — talk to an attorney about your specific situation.
You cannot serve your own papers
Under California Code of Civil Procedure § 414.10, service must be performed by someone 18 or older who is not a party to the case. If you are the plaintiff, you are disqualified. A friend or relative technically qualifies, but a registered process server produces a proof of service that is far harder for the other side to attack.
Personal service is the gold standard
Handing the documents directly to the named person (CCP § 415.10) is the cleanest and fastest-effective method. Service is complete the moment the papers are delivered. It is what we attempt first on every job.
Substituted service is the fallback
When someone cannot be personally served after reasonable diligence — courts generally expect several genuine attempts at different times — CCP § 415.20 allows the papers to be left with a competent adult at their home or usual workplace, followed by a mailed copy. Service is then deemed complete on the 10th day after mailing, so build that delay into your calendar.
Registered process servers are regulated
California registered process servers must register with the county clerk and maintain a $2,000 bond under the Business and Professions Code. That registration is what allows a server to sign proofs of service in volume and gives your filing added credibility.
Deadlines are unforgiving
California expects a summons and complaint to be served within 60 days of filing, and unlawful detainer cases move on far tighter clocks. If your deadline is close, say so when you contact us and we will prioritize the job.

Beverly Hills Process Server FAQ
The questions we get asked most
About Process Serving in Beverly Hills, California
Beverly Hills concentrates an unusual amount of high-value litigation into a small footprint, and the defendants in those cases are typically the hardest in Los Angeles County to physically reach. Estates in Trousdale and the canyons sit behind gates and private patrols. Condominium towers along Wilshire and in the Golden Triangle run staffed lobbies with strict access policies. Many owners hold title through trusts or limited liability companies, so the public record points at an entity rather than a person.
What that adds up to is simple: the outcome depends far more on preparation than on persistence. Confirming where someone actually resides before dispatch, knowing how far a server may lawfully proceed at a gate, and producing an attempt log detailed enough to support substituted service if it comes to that are what separate a completed serve from a stack of billable non-attempts.
Where the defendant is a company rather than an individual, service usually runs through the California registered agent — see our pages on serving CT Corporation and United States Corporation Agents (LegalZoom). Beyond serving, Beverly Hills clients use us for court filing and California eFiling, messenger runs, records retrieval, and TLOxp skip tracing — see our California eFiling service for attorneys and law firms. We also cover Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Glendale, Burbank, Van Nuys, and Pasadena.
We are registered and bonded in California, our proofs of service comply with California Code of Civil Procedure requirements, and we are members of the National Association of Professional Process Servers. Whether you are counsel on a high-asset dissolution, a firm with a filing deadline tomorrow, or an individual serving papers for the first time, you will get the same answer when you call: a real person, a straight quote, and papers served properly.
