Your Local Glendale Process Server

When a court deadline is coming and your papers still are not served, you do not want a dispatcher three counties away guessing at traffic on the 134. Reliable Attorney Service is headquartered right here in Glendale. We serve papers in this city every single week, and we know its apartment buildings, gated communities, business parks, and courthouse routines the way only a local does.

We are a registered, bonded California process serving company and a member of the National Association of Professional Process Servers. Attorneys, paralegals, property managers, collection firms, and self-represented litigants across Los Angeles County rely on us for service of process in Glendale, CA that holds up in court the first time.

Every job comes back with a complete, court-ready proof of service — the date, the time, the exact location, and a physical description of the person served — prepared to California Judicial Council standards and emailed to you as a PDF. And because we are also an official California eFiling provider, we can file the documents with the court once service is complete, so you are not chasing two vendors for one case.

Why Glendale Chooses Reliable Attorney Service

Local, accountable, and owner-operated

We Actually Live Here

We are Glendale-based, not a national dispatch desk. No routing your job to a subcontractor two counties over and hoping for the best — the person serving your papers knows the neighborhood.

Attempts at Hours That Work

People who dodge service are not home at 2pm on a Tuesday. We vary our attempts across early mornings, evenings, and weekends until we catch them.

Proofs That Survive Scrutiny

A sloppy proof of service can undo months of work. Ours are detailed, accurate, prepared to Judicial Council standards, and returned quickly as PDFs.

A Human Answers the Phone

You get owners and staff who know your case — not a ticket number. Status updates come without you having to chase them.

Flat Rates, Quoted Up Front

You know the price before we start. Volume and law firm pricing is available for offices sending regular work.

One Vendor, Start to Finish

Serving, court filing, eFiling, records retrieval, skip tracing, and messenger runs — all under one roof, all on one invoice.

California Service of Process Rules, in Plain English

A quick orientation for anyone handling their first case. This is general information, not legal advice — talk to an attorney about your specific situation.

You cannot serve your own papers

Under California Code of Civil Procedure § 414.10, service must be performed by someone 18 or older who is not a party to the case. If you are the plaintiff, you are disqualified. A friend or relative technically qualifies, but a registered process server produces a proof of service that is far harder for the other side to attack.

Personal service is the gold standard

Handing the documents directly to the named person (CCP § 415.10) is the cleanest and fastest-effective method. Service is complete the moment the papers are delivered. It is what we attempt first on every job.

Substituted service is the fallback

When someone cannot be personally served after reasonable diligence — courts generally expect several genuine attempts at different times — CCP § 415.20 allows the papers to be left with a competent adult at their home or usual workplace, followed by a mailed copy. Service is then deemed complete on the 10th day after mailing, so build that delay into your calendar.

Registered process servers are regulated

California registered process servers must register with the county clerk and maintain a $2,000 bond under the Business and Professions Code. That registration is what allows a server to sign proofs of service in volume and gives your filing added credibility.

Deadlines are unforgiving

California expects a summons and complaint to be served within 60 days of filing, and unlawful detainer cases move on far tighter clocks. If your deadline is close, say so when you contact us and we will prioritize the job.

Glendale Process Server FAQ

The questions we get asked most

About Process Serving in Glendale, California

Glendale is one of the largest cities in Los Angeles County, and its mix of high-rise offices along Brand Boulevard, dense apartment blocks in the Pacific-Edison and Tropico areas, and hillside homes in Chevy Chase Canyon and Glenoaks Canyon makes service of process genuinely harder than it looks on a map. Gated buildings, controlled-access lobbies, and hillside addresses with no street parking all defeat servers who do not know the area. We do this here every week.

Being based in Glendale puts us minutes from the city's business corridor and from CT Corporation's registered agent office on North Brand Boulevard, where corporate defendants across California are served. If you are suing a business entity rather than an individual, see our dedicated pages for serving CT Corporation and United States Corporation Agents (LegalZoom).

Beyond process serving, Glendale clients use us for court filing and California eFiling, courthouse messenger runs, records retrieval, and TLOxp skip tracing when a defendant's whereabouts are unknown. Attorneys and law firms sending regular work receive volume pricing and consolidated billing. Learn more about our California eFiling service for attorneys and law firms. We also cover Burbank, Pasadena, Van Nuys, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and all of Los Angeles County.

We are registered and bonded in California, our proofs of service comply with California Code of Civil Procedure requirements, and we are members of the National Association of Professional Process Servers. Whether you are an attorney with a filing deadline tomorrow, a landlord starting an unlawful detainer, or an individual serving divorce papers for the first time, you will get the same answer when you call: a real person, a straight quote, and papers served properly.
